This club unites industry, associations, professionals and all others interested in sustainable development.

Because we think that numerous economic models used in our society are not adequate to face the challenges of the 21st century, the club is exploring how we can change and what our options are for economic transformation. The economy is one of the driving forces in our economy. More than anyone, industry leaders have the ability to imagine and construct viable economic models for the future that are respectful of humans and the planet.

By working with the most advanced industry leaders and entrepreneurs based on their approach and engagement, this club is open to anyone who wants to explore and learn about these models and the people involved in this movement.

 

Exploring New Economic Models?

The challenges of sustainable development are vast and exciting and they open a true field of exploration and innovation. Different ideas and applied research are emerging such as biomimicry, service economy, industrial ecology or progress without growth.

The objective of this club is to allow for reflection, inspiration and exploration in the company of thinkers, philosophers, scientists and economists, so that we can realize new novel and viable models and encourage their development.

OBJECTIVES

1. Understanding the risks of the current model

- What are the structural elements of certain “business models” that are not viable long-term?

- What are the legislative, material, structural, societal and environmental risks?

2. Let’s imagine the solutions

- What are the fundamentals of the “business models” that are viable in the future? (Criteria, values, indicators, size, how to get it started...)

- What transition work can we do begin the transition in industry today?

- What opportunities do these new models represent?

- What new types of industry can we create?

- Visions of the future

 

Club Activities

Once every 2 months, we will meet with a speaker (economist, thinker or philosopher) and a pioneering enterprise.

To fuel the reflection, a “couple”, thinker/entrepreneur, will share both a vision and real-life experiences. The pair will be chosen to complement one another: to allow the thinker to share his/her theoretical vision and to allow the entrepreneur to speak of the practical experience that will support this vision.

We will send you a newsletter once every 2 months discussing these unique presentations including:

- exploration projects

A network made up of various sectors that will list the main contributors useful to industry leaders to achieve sustainability
